St. Francis of Assisi Church, Kattiparambu, is a Latin Catholic parish of the Diocese of Cochin with a special place in the Franciscan Holy Year now being observed across the diocese. The church traces its origin to 1887, when Mr. Sauriar Edward of the Kattiparambu family built a double-storeyed building and Bishop Dom João Gomes Ferreira gave permission for its upper hall to be used as a private chapel.
Dedicated to the Poverello of Assisi, the parish embodies in its very name the four Franciscan pillars at the heart of the Year of Francis Assisi — Peace, Poverty, Care for Creation, and Fraternity. During this jubilee year the parish welcomes pilgrims who come to walk in the spirit of St. Francis, to pray the Peace Prayer, and to renew their commitment to Gospel simplicity.
The parish is also home to its filial church, St. Jude Church Judapuram, a novena centre dedicated to St. Jude the Apostle.
